Little River Rotary Club President Doug Allen presented a $500 check to Angela Nicholas, chief executive officer of the local American Red Cross, on Dec. 19 to assist with the Christmas dinner and local disaster relief.

Red Cross staff members collected toys Dec. 11 from the Mortgage Lenders Association, which donates toys each year for distribution to local families with children who have lost their homes to fire during the calendar year.


Piggly Wiggly Partners with American Red Cross

PigglyWiggly2007_02.jpg (70331 bytes)Piggly Wiggly has partnered with the Coastal South Carolina Chapter of the American Red Cross to fund a renovation of the Community Education Room at Chapter headquarters in Myrtle Beach. The work is expected to be completed by the fall.

Director of Health & Safety Rocco Salinari (left), gives some CPR pointers to Myrtle Beach Herald owner Greg Everett. Everett made a donation to the chapter that allowed for the purchase of new child and infant manikins to be used for teaching important lifesaving skills to the public.

The group organized an annual golf tournament to raise funds for fire victims assisted through the local chapter of the Red Cross.
